5 Signs Your Interior Needs a Deep Clean
Interiors get dirty gradually, which makes it easy to miss the point where a quick vacuum stops being enough. Here are five signs it's time for a real deep clean.
1. Odors that don't go away
Air fresheners mask smells; they don't remove them. If an odor lingers after airing the car out, it's usually trapped in the carpet, seat foam, or HVAC system — all things a deep clean addresses directly.
2. Stains in the seats or carpet
Spills that have dried in are much harder to lift with basic cleaners. Extraction-based cleaning gets deeper into the fibers than a wipe-down ever will.
3. Dust reappears almost immediately
If the dashboard looks dusty again a day or two after wiping it down, fine debris is likely settled into vents and crevices that routine cleaning doesn't reach.
4. Sticky or grimy touchpoints
Steering wheels, gear shifters, and door handles pick up oils and residue over time. A noticeably sticky feel is a sign these high-touch areas need real attention, not just a quick spray.
5. It's been more than a few months
Even without any obvious signs, most interiors benefit from a deep clean every few months — especially with regular commuting, kids, or pets involved.
